Inspired by the wild beauty of County Kerry, this series of paintings captures the vibrant meeting of sea, sky, and mountain. Created through a richly layered process of collage and acrylic on canvas, each work incorporates hand-printed tissue papers that add subtle textures, occasional glimpses of text, and a sense of depth. Expressive linework and bold graphic energy infuse the landscapes with life, while vibrant, rhythmic patterns animate the sea and sky.

Foreground foliage and coastal detail contrast with the strong, sculptural forms of distant mountains, evoking the essence of summer on the Kerry coast. Though stylized rather than strictly realistic, each composition remains rooted in a strong sense of place — striking and eye-catching from afar, yet rewarding close inspection with its many layers, tactile surfaces, and hidden details waiting to be discovered.

As an addition to my Land and Sea Series, I am delighted to share three new paintings. These works continue my exploration of coastlines and seascapes, this time infused with a heightened sense of summer light and energy. Each piece draws on vibrant blues and their complementary contrasts to capture the brilliance of sparkling seas and the warmth of long summer days. Distant lands and islands appear on the horizon, anchoring views that celebrate the intensity of colour, heat, and the luminous clarity of sunlight by the sea.
